Meridian Controls Corporation has been automating telescope domes since 1994. The automation package allows unattended, remote and local operation of dome
opening, closing and dome rotation. Slaving the dome motion to the telescope is accomplished using software (AutomaDome) from Software Bisque. Any Telescope being controlled by TheSky from Software Bisque will automatically have the dome opening synchronized with the motion of the telescope. This automation system is compliant with the standard Astronomical Command Language (ACL) and thus custom software may be written to control dome functions from telescopes not operating under TheSky. Automation
packages are available for those who only need to automate dome rotation.
